The Knit Club for Blankets for London at Four Otter Studio – 5th November
November 5, 2023, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Eventbrite has just recently changed its free policy on event capacity. If you have the means please choose a donation ticket as opposed to a free ticket when booking, to allow people on a low income to attend the event. Even £1 can make a difference and provide a space for someone.
If you can’t make the event anymore, please be sure to cancel your ticket well in advance to give others a chance to attend.
The Knit Club at Four Otter Craft Studio is a workshop by Craft Forward and Four Otter Craft Studio structured like a relaxed and welcoming knitting and crochet group, open to beginners and experienced makers to come together, connect, learn more about the craft and its radical history. Knitters will be producing knitted squares to go towards the “Blankets for London” project.
“Blankets for London” is Craft Forward’s seasonal project where we assemble blankets to donate to homeless individuals in London through our partner charities.
The Knit Club is open to anyone interested in approaching crafting and textile art for the first time and to any creative who would like an opportunity to make together and connect with other makers.
What to bring: all materials are provided! If you are an experienced knitter please bring your own knitting needles (and spare yarn if you have any); if you are a beginner, come along and we will help you start your knitting journey! If you’re a crocheter, come with your favourite hook, or you can borrow one from us!
About Four Otter: Welcome to our textile teaching studio nestled in the heart of Blue House Yard, Wood Green. We’re all about the art of crafting, offering a variety of classes and courses that span the wonderful world of knitting, crochet, spinning, and dyeing.
At our core, we’re firm believers in the strength of community, and that’s why we host our weekly crafting extravaganza, the “Friday Fibre Feast.” But that’s not all – we also gather monthly for the “Yarn & Conversation” group, because we know that a shared passion for textiles brings people together.
Beyond the studio, we’re actively engaged with our local community. You can find us participating in events like Haringey Feast and Circular Economy Week, showcasing our commitment to sustainable and innovative textile practices.
So, if you’re curious, crafty, or just looking to connect with fellow textile enthusiasts, we invite you to join us. Come along and see what we’re all about!
I want to participate in “Blankets for London”: our mailbox is now open for Blankets for London 2023.
What to send:
We are currently collecting yarn, 20×20 cm knitted or crocheted squares (ends weaved in please!) or already assembled blankets.

This year the deadline to post your squares and blankets is the 19th of November 2023.
Pictures will be taken during this session: please let us know if you’d rather not be photographed, we want to make sure everyone is comfortable.
