Event Navigation

Van Gogh House and Fatoedo Film Productions present an evening of short films led by The Ballad of Olive Morris.
A selection of narrative short films and documentaries about the migrant and black experience in Brixton, Britain and beyond, the evening is curated by filmmaker Alex Kayode-Kay. This selection of films explores the depth and breadth of storytelling and humanity in these experiences not always seen in the mainstream. From the story of an immigrant student striving to survive in England to the power of activism to the legendary Brixton activist Olive Morris, these stories will make you laugh and cry and reflect.
The screening is followed by a conversation and Q&A between the artist Harold Offeh, and the filmmaker Alex Kayode-Kaye, and the other filmmakers in attendance.
This event forms part of the public programme alongside the exhibition We Came Here by Harold Offeh at Van Gogh House in Brixton, which itself explores migrant experiences to Brixton, and centres around a fictional conversation between Olive Morris and Vincent Van Gogh.
