This FREE course helps you to feel safer online so you can get the most from using the internet and the online world.

This course is open to anyone wanting to know how they can keep themselves safe online, fill in some gaps or overcome barriers they are facing in using their computers, tablets or smartphones.
What the course covers:

Learn about digital footprints, why it’s important to think before you share things online and managing social media settings.

Keeping Devices Protected Understanding the risks and how to keep your devices protected, antivirus software and running updates.

Browsing Safely What to look out for when browsing the internet, how to trust a website, accepting cookies and taking ownership over your browser settings.

Keeping Accounts Secure Developing a password strategy, finding what works for you, account recovery and additional security features.

Scams Unraveled Overview of how scammers try to trick us, different types of scams and identifying a scam message.

What to do in a crisis Accessing further advice and support, who to ask for help and developing an action plan.
Induction & Assessment: There will be a full induction before the course starts to ensure you have all that you need, know what support is available and that the course is suitable for you.
Additional Support: Community Tech Support Drop-Ins We run weekly drop-in sessions at different venues across South London.
