Black Communities Health & Wellbeing day

October 15, 2022, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Life is busy, which can make keeping track of you and your family’s long-term health hard. That’s the things that have always been important to keep an eye on, like your blood pressure, diabetes, mental health, staying active and any other health worries you might have.

That’s why we’re back for with our second Black Communities Health and Wellbeing Day, to help you check-in on your health with support from health professional, who will be on hand from 11am -4pms. If you joined us last year you can expect more of the same health and community connection!

We know food and music are the secrets to a happy body and soul, so we’ll have FREE food and DJ Rita Ray playing global sounds from black talent old and new. Rita is an international DJ with roots in Lambeth – you might know her from her days co-running and DJing at the Mambo Inn in Brixton.

Your wonderful local NHS teams will be on hand from 11am to 4pm to offer advice on everything from keeping well to blood pressure and diabetes checks, healthy eating and how to spot the early signs of breast and prostate cancer.

There will also be plenty of fun activities throughout the day, including arts & crafts, and fitness classes. We’ll even have some goody bags to take away, including a special African and Caribbean Healthy Cookbook.

The Lambeth Health and Wellbeing Bus will be just outside with advice on vaccinations from our onboard pharmacist.

No need to book a ticket, just turn up and we’ll be there for a chat.
